Getting Started in Build Whatever

Your first Build Whatever session should end with a doorway you can walk through tomorrow. Too many players end it with a crater because they spawned in a public lobby and treated the hammer like a peaceful kit. This route assumes the game is live on Roblox, free, and online. It does not assume you will spend Robux on day one.

Join the correct experience

Search Build Whatever and open the listing by Blazely Games Sandbox, place 114381378262504. Near-clones reuse the hammer emoji and the same sentence about imagination. If the description does not mention free private-server saves, you are in the wrong toy. The official links page keeps the canonical URL.

Wait for the toolbar. If you move before parts load, you will think placement is broken.

Minute one through ten

Walk the starter pad. Notice whether other avatars already hold slap gloves or rockets. If they do, leave for a free private server before you place anything you care about. Public chaos is a feature, not a bug — schedule it later.

Place a floor larger than your hitbox, then four walls, then a roof. Use the rotate habit from the controls guide so seams meet. Do not start with a castle. A one-room box teaches snap, height, and camera. Paint is optional; shape is not.

Open and close the build menu once so you know where free blocks sit versus Gamepass packs. Furniture, railway, cherry blossom, garden, ice, doors, and glass are paid extras. You can finish a handsome room without them.

Minute ten through thirty

Add one opening and a simple interior: a bench, a window hole, a light-colored floor so you can see edges. Walk the interior in first person. If you clip through a wall, the part is too thin or the camera lied. Fix it now while the plot is quiet.

Create or rejoin your free private server and confirm the room reloads. If it does not, you built on a public instance that will die. The server mode advisor explains the difference in one screen.

What not to buy yet

Skip Infinite TNT, Rocket Launcher, Bat, and Galaxy Slap Glove until you know you want PvP. Skip UNLOCK EVERYTHING until you have used the free kit for a full evening. Unlock Sprinting is the only cheap quality-of-life pass most new players feel immediately, and even that can wait. Use the Gamepass picker if you are about to tap the store in frustration.

Invite later, not first
